Recieved much awaited emails today, "Card/Document Production Ordered" emails for both my wife and myself.
My PD is 05/04/2006, TSC.
08/24/10 - contacted local congressman office. They were helpful and immediately enquired about the status. Got the reply that the applications have been pre-adjudicated and a visa number will be available in September
09/01/10 - opened an SR with USCIS for myself -- didn't hear anything about it
09/08/10 - congressman's office followed up with TSC. got the reply that the file is with an office and should hear something by the end of the month or sooner.
09/15/10 - got the CPO emails/text messages. Didn't have any SLUD's before that.
I wish good luck everyone waiting for GC.

Am using vonage for lnadline for long as well used their European calling service in past - voice quality is very good - and now to India as well (to land line and cell) - quality is very good ....
Does it work well with Home security systems Like BRINKS? How good is the call quality if you have DSL at home. I have DSL with 1.5 MBPS download. Thus the voice garbles when you are actively downloading on Internet.

Look around you will see.... not everybody is the same.
I personally know many who had been "working in H1B" for more than 14 years.
Not everybody gives more weightage for their "immigration plan" than some personal and career interests. If you are really truthful to USCIS about your intentions, and you keep doing what you want to do with your career and life, it is in-fact very possible that you will be found without a GC even after 10 years working in USA, if your are from India.
An approved I-140 doesnt make you "automatically" qualified for an I-485. You dont file 485, if you dont "intent" to continue with that specific employment, even after I-140 approval.
7Years???? No..... you can extend your H1 beyond 6 years as many times as you want if you meet some conditions as per AC21. So it is possible for you to be in H1B for 100 years.
10years tax payed???? Yes because of the other reasons I mentioned. Also I know many who are still in que after 14 years paying taxes.
.......... but for
#3) condition "if they have paid the tax continously for 10 years", I wonder how can this
happen unless the foreign student who has worked in US for 10 years. I heard H-1b
workers maximum have 6 years plus 1 year extra for extension total add up to 7 years.
So how can have 10 years tax paid????

May I ask your immigration status. I believe you already got your GC and roaming around here just beat shit out of others. Each and every of your post is convincing me in that direction only. You would be happy to see the H1 guys thrown out from here. So it will increase your demand and you can make more money. Yes, I agree that not filing GC earlier is not an excuse for MBA. The point is he still would have been in the same situation (EB3, 2003 is not too different from EB2, 2005) in terms of how fast he will get his GC.
The law would allow him to port his EB3 PD just like how it is doing now. he will not be in the same situation, isn't this better now?

Most makes sense but I don't think any candidates wait for their companies to file for EB1. EB1s can be filed by the candidates themselves. Right? All in all, if this happens, it will be good news for atleast a couple of 1000 EB2-I. :D
EB1A/EB1B does not need but EB1C needs employer and was exploited by the Indian companies to the max. possible extend for the so called global managers

1. Find a job first.
2. Secure a good apartment at new job's location.
3. If you need a better car buy one right now.
4. Get some credit cards.
5. Let your home go to foreclosure.
It is a financial decision. Every once in a while, most of us go to different stores and ask them to match the price for the item that we had purchased earlier. If they do not match the price then we return that item. Don't we? Do not get sentimental. Just walk off! Your credit history would get screwed but if you plan it the way I said above, you will be fine. Good luck.
And it won't affect your GC.

Does the letter need to have the same information as the LC. I can get a non I-485 related employment verification letter but here is the catch. The employer is dilly dallying on filing for I-485. The employer can give a letter with my job title which is "XYZ Developer" include salary, length of employment etc. But the "Final Determination" copy that I have says occupation: Computer Software Engineers, 15-1031. Does the letter have to state "Computer Software Engineer" or can it state "XYZ Developer" ? If it has to be the former that will only alert them that I am bypassing their stonewalling and the employer is only likely to refuse to include that as the job title. So which is which ? The job specific title ie "XYZ Developer" or the DOL title per the "Final Determination"

If you want to change the employer with in 180 days of filing 485 - there is a risk involved. If your 485 approved with in the 180 days then you will get in to trouble. If your 485 is pending more than 180 days - irrespective of when you changed employer before 180 days over or after 180 days over are does not matter - and you will be safe.
If you change your employer with in 180 days - then you have to pray to the GOD for not getting approval with in 180 days of filing.
I think it answers lot of lenghty questions either one way or the other.
I have been in Murthy - Phone conference and she given the above answer to the question.

MY priority date is Feb 2005 (EB2 India) and Notice date is Sep, 04, 2007
The other day I took infopass but it was useless.. Any help in how to open an SR is highly appreciated guys

Just curious, how come there are some pending aplications in the year 2008 and 2009 where there were no VISA BULLETIN with those years. How they filed without Bulleting entries? Got point? or Am I missing some thing?

Where is your case at? Is it TSC or NSC? If it's TSC, please send me a private message and I will give you the name of the IO. You really need to talk to this IO, and I think you will get the exact info you need.
As one of the posters mentioned earlier, your case with the IO could mean:
1) It's either in the holding area
2) Or with the officer on their desk
You want to somehow get your case to 2 - on the officers desk. If its sitting in the holding area, you can ask the IO (if they are willing to help) to send a polite reminder to the IO who your file has been assigned to letting them know that your case is current and needs to be looked at.
Another thing the IO mentioed to me was that the case could sit in the holding area for long if the IO that the case has been assigned to is on vacation (or out sick). I'm hoping that's not the case with your application
