Several people on the forum seem to be getting fingerprint notices, EAD, AP etc. in mail.
I am one of the few July 2nd filer who has not seen any activity on my case yet..no checks cashed, no 485 receipt, no EAD etc. etc.
I am just trying to guage as to how many of us July 2nd filers are in this boat.... my 140 was approved from TSC, 485 was mailed to NSC..

Some IV members were in DC at USCIS building yesterday (Tuesday, July 10th, 2007) from 10 AM to 1 PM. There were reporters there including CNN-IBN and Voice of America (Aaj Tak chanel) with video cameras. We saw the deliveries of flowers being made by UPS and FedEx. The DHL guy told the flowers were already delivered in the morning in the big truck. The security guards at the loading dock of USCIS were not allowing Video Shooting after the reporters shot the UPS deliveries going inside. When the FedEx tuck came in, they made him park right near the Loading Gate and were trying to cover up by parking two other vans each side of that truck so nobody can shoot the delivery.
Then IV members went inside the USCIS building from the main gate to hand deliver the flowers with Get Well Soon ballon and card for Emilio Gozales. Teh Video cameras followed until the security guard asked them to stop the recording as they didn't have prior approval. The security guards, receptionists and people around were smiling by seeing the flowers for Gonzales. They let the IV members proceed towards the visitor area. Where another secuirity guard asked who the delivery was for and directed to one of the Gonzales's secretaries, Rachel, who accepted the flowers. There were people around her. Rachel said to them "This is creepy, as far as I know he ain't sick, we received flowers last week, they were pretty too. Yesterday someone sent him cookies. This is some kind of peaceful protest". Then she also read the card in front of IV members. IV members asked her about the website update which says they are sending these flowers to Walter Reed. She said yes, we are doing that. IV members thanked her and left the building.

They made them wait and then several people (from different level of securityty to management) came to talk with them and finally said they can not allow to shoot for security reasons. Its a little hard to understand how the issue of 'work authorization' cannot be raised during interview or hiring process.
The details escapes me... at some point in the long past I was looking into what kind of questions employers should and shouldn't ask. If I come across anything again then I will surely post.
As far as EAD is concerned, the employers shouldn't discriminate. Especially if more than 90 days are left on it since that's the time-frame govt promises to issue a new EAD. The employer might feel better to work with a citizen or GC or a person of certain ethnic background or national origin. However, thats the kind of decisions the employer is not allowed to make. Employer has to accept EAD, everything else being equal. When the law is not followed and it harms us, we have to fight it back.
I realize employers sometime end up asking questions that they shouldn't like the obvious ones such as age and marital status.

I didn't get the phone# for USCIS compaint dept. But some one(may be ashres11) posted one phone#18003238603 for DHS. I called that number and it turned out Inspector General office. As i reported earlier. He told me to call regular USCIS 800. I said it's useless. He took some note and asked to call this new number 877-246-8253.

Thats is waht they say.. But their actions always show that they are against ALL immigration. Some of us have been looking at them for a while now. As you can see, they DO NOT support the letter campaign.

I have not seen any place where the change the rules of the Games inbetween..So for EB-3's of early 2000..we were expecting GC's in 2-4 years and EB-2 in 1-3 years..we didnt see any big difference here..ok we said we can apply in EB-3 and wait a year longer...
If we knew that DOL would suddenly change the rules..there was no reason for us to apply in EB-3..we could have looked for another job or convinced our manager to apply to apply in EB-2..if the situation could turn so dire as we know now..Now look at the new guys..they will never apply in EB-3..even the lawyers will advise thier clients to apply in EB-2..so the old intrepretation should remain for the older cases and new interpretation for cases when USCIS decided to change the interpretation...

If the old practice is a result of correct interpretation of law, why they should change now? This is very high sensitive area; DOS might have not changed their practice without risk analysis. They should not care about how much retrogression in India; They should only care about implementing the law correctly, as becuase they are executive branch of government not legislative branch to worry about retrogression.

Two things about VONAGE:
1. Tax kills the deal. For me its coming more than $31 per month.
2. I searched on google about calls review. Many people are complaining that the call quality is not that good. On peak times, they do face issues.
Still calling unlimited india is a very tempting idea.;)

I personally haven't seen any issues with Call quality. Infact Call quality is excellent.

There are lot of people losing jobs because of L1. I totally agree with L1Fraud that we need to expose this racket and make sure everybody is following the rules, period....People like ganguteli must be on L1 and they will always support to continue this fraud. Bringing people on low wages on L1 is causing lot of pressure on salary and I have seen whole floors being replaced from this so called highly skilled people on L1. I'm not against immigration but against people/companies breaking the rules..
L1Fraud - Can you post on how to go about reporting this fraud. I know you mention about ICE? Do you have a format of letter and any suggestions on how to kick start the discussions and investigation....

I see that you guys didnt join IV until 2008. So, you know very less about this org. The people who only can think for their own wont come to join you at any stage, it was proven many times. They will just keep writing messages here and use valuable information on the forum.
I am EB2/Masters/PD Nov 2004. I do not not support your idea. I loose patience at times, but not to the extent of effecting other peoples chances. I know quite a few of my freinds who had masters, their corporate employers applied in EB3, none of them are trying to do conversion. But, i feel their pain.

All we need is just 233,816(page 2) visas(forget about country limit, EB category etc). In that case in 2 years we will have 280,000(140,000 * 2) visas. So should we all get GC in two years with that logic.

I would like to give update on visa availability. My PD is 03/06- EB2. Opened SR for me and my spouse on 08/30/10
1. For me, letter by USPS came stating that, I485 is at USCIS local office and will notify about decision in 30 days
2. Spouse got below response by email (On 09/13/2010)
"The status of this service request is:
Your I-485 application is waiting for a visa number to become available. When it becomes available, it will be assigned to an adjudicator to make a decision on the case.
If you have not heard from the service within 30 days after your number becomes available, you can make an Info pass appointment to visit the Customer Service Division,
at the District office"
On 09/14/10 we took infopass and spoke to customer service representative. She told that visa Numbers are not available any more and also checked validity of finger prints in system.
Told us that they are expired (Till now we gave 2 times, one in sept 07, 2nd one in may 09 (FP are valid for for 15m)) - I guess we need to give 3 rd time soon.
She told that dates for FP at ASC center are not available and will try to send us ASAP when Visa Numbers are available.

Job Zone 4 does not automatically translate to EB3. Even though the title maybe EB-3, if the requirements exceed normal requirements for jobs in Job Zone 4 then after a (successful) business necessity audit the candidate maybe able to file in EB2.
